21-01-15.- The Spanish city of Malaga has presneted last January 16 officially as European Capital of Sport 2019 candidate. For this application, the local mayor, Francisco de la Torre, accompanied by the president of ACES Europe, Gian F. Lupattelli, presented at a press conference this ambitious project.
For the first Malaga mayor, this nomination is "a push to further strengthen our city among European leaders of the sport, both in facilities and sporting events, but especially in the sport of the residents of this city".
Málaga aspires to this concession, among other reasons, because the actions were planned to increase levels of sport are proving effective: in 2009 there were 15,000 registered facilities and programs in local sports system in 2014 more than 70,000; distributed 33% kids, 56% adults and 11% seniors.
